Covert and Advanced multi-modal Sensor Systems
for tArget acquisiTion and reconnAissance
The CASSATA project, funded by the EU, aims to advance covert sensing technologies for defence applications. With a consortium of 27 organizations from 9 countries, including industrial entities, universities, research organizations, and SMEs, our mission is to develop and test advanced multi-modal sensing concepts, technologies and platforms. Focused on optronics, acoustics/seismic sensing, RF and radar systems, and adaptive and collaborative sensing technologies, data fusion and AI. CASSATA aims to provide European forces with enhanced situational awareness, target sensing, early warning, and decision support capabilities. Our approach addresses challenges and enablers, driven by real-world use cases to meet European forces’ needs. We exploit passive and covert sensing systems, integrate multi-sensor platforms, and apply advanced processing techniques to improve surveillance and reconnaissance. The project explores covert optronic sensing feasibility, develops signal and data processing techniques, and tests new sensor technologies in challenging environments. Committed to tangible results, CASSATA aims to deliver a new generation of covert sensing systems, setting new standards for performance and interoperability in defence.
