RHEINMETALL

What does RHI do in the CASSATA project?

RHI will focus on the studies concerning networks of multistatic LPI radar networks. These will help to improve the techniques and capabilities about the radar surveillance and tracking operations for air defence against stealths , drones, loitering and C-RAM munition targets.

What does RHI aim to achieve by participating in the CASSATA project?

The participation in the CASSATA project helps RHI to establish more contacts with partners who share the same interests. In addition, CASSATA allows RHI to develop new sensors with state-of-the-art technology, such as stand-alone or networks of Radar sensors, with particular concern about multistatic operative configuration. As the battlefield of the future becomes more complex, a multitude of different Low Probability of Intercept sensors will need to be operate together and their sensor data fused to produce a unified situational awareness report.

What specific areas does RHI focus on in the CASSATA project to improve covert sensing and operational effectiveness amidst rapid changes in European defense?

RHI focus shall be in the use of active radar networks, utilizing multistatic techniques where the covert sensing capabilities shall be realized by the use of smart use of the mobility deployment nodes and by the control of the Low Probability of Intercept generated waveforms as well as the tranmitted power management strategy. The above mentioned charatericstics shall be based on the state of the art technologies concerning radar architectures and signal processing capabilities.
